Application Crashing caused by quick scrolling mouse pad

We have encountered one specific type of mouse pad that seems to cause Song Surgeon Version 4 to crash.  It is found on an Acer Aspire laptop, model number V3-551-8469.  The mouse pad is an Elan Smart-Pad.  The driver for this device is ETDWare PS/2-X64 11.6.8.001_WHQL. 

 This specific mouse pad has regions of the mouse pad along the horizontal & vertical axes are reserved for quick horizontal/vertical scrolling.  Song Surgeon seems to crash when these quick scrolling regions are used.  If you go to the mouse pad properties and disabling the horizontal/vertical scrolling regions, the problem resolves itself.
