If you are experiencing a crash when you try to open one of the functions from the top menu in Song Surgeon 6, it may be caused by a very old computer that has old default Microsoft libraries. Specifically Direct3D. Direct3D is
a graphics application programming interface (API) for Microsoft
Windows. SS 6 requires Version 11 of this Microsoft program. Please update your video card driver using the steps below.
- Right-click on the Start Menu (
Win + X) and select Device Manager. - Expand Display Adapters.
- Right-click your graphics card (e.g., "Intel HD Graphics", "NVIDIA", or "AMD Radeon").
- Click Update Driver.
- Select Search automatically for drivers.
- If Windows finds a new driver, install it and restart your PC.
After you have complete this, please open SS 6 and try using it again. If you see the same problem, please go to the Search field, next to the Start button in the lower left hand corner of your screen and type in "dxdiag" and then tap your Enter key. This will run a report. Please grab this report and complete a support ticket and send this dxdiag report to us.
