Clicking or distortion after deleting/cutting a section
There are two ways to deal with this. One is to re open the file
you edited that has the clicking sound, and then zoom in where you hear this clicking and select and a small area that encompasses this clickand then go to Edit >> Silence selected section.
The
other way to do this is to
highlight the section to be removed and FIRST silence the entire
highlighted section you are going to remove, the delete it.
The
issue is simply that if there is ANY audio data at the point of the
cut, this will be heard as distortion on playback. The way to resolve
this is to silence an area which essentially reduce the volume to 0. If
you cut in an area where there is zero volume, this clicking or
distortion will go away.
